Executive Director, Scott Levine

Scott Levine received his B.S. with a concentration in Business Administration from Charter Oak College. He worked for The Hartford as a Business Analyst for seven years before co-founding Creative Interventions in 2004. Scott also worked for the Red Cross and has a strong passion for helping others. When the opportunity arose to be a part of forming an agency that’s mission was to help others, he saw this as his chance to utilize his strong business skills while being a part of making a positive difference in the lives of others. Scott is largely involved in fund raising and other philanthropic opportunities as they arise. Scott is the Executive Director of our agency. 


Executive Clinical Director, Melissa S. Saunders, MS., BCBA

Melissa received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts and M.S. in Counseling and Advanced Applied Behavior Analysis from Nova Southeastern University. Melissa is currently enrolled in a doctoral program at Nova in Organizational Leadership with a concentration on Applied Behavior Analysis. She has been providing services to children with Autism and related disabilities for over 10 years. Melissa is the Executive Clinical Director for Creative Interventions. Melissa is currently a Member at Large on the board of CTABA and MassABA. Melissa is an active member of the Connecticut Autism Action Coalition (CAAC). She has a special interest in functional assessment of problem behaviors across diagnoses, behavior analytic supervision models and has a passion for providing training and workshops on a variety of topics that affect families, school staff and individuals. Throughout her career Melissa has provided direct and consultative services in private and public schools, in homes, as well as center-based facilities. As with many individuals, Melissa has been personally affected by Autism having 3 nephews diagnosed with Autism. This fact has strengthened her drive to ensure that parents receive education in the treatment their child receives and that individuals are provided with evidence-based services. Melissa lives in South Hadley Massachusetts with her husband Rich, two children, Cameron and Ava, their dog Foxy, and a noncompliant French bulldog, Sophie.


Maris Pelkey, MA, BCBA, Director of Birth to Three

Maris received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Relations from UCONN and her Masters degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Saint Joseph College. She provided Birth to Three services in the state of CT as a special educator for nine years before returning to Saint Joseph’s to pursue a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. Maris became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2012 and continues to maintain her teaching certificate in early childhood special education. Her primary responsibilities at Creative Interventions include direct services to families, support to teams as a team supervisor, and coordination of the Birth to Three program to ensure quality services to the families we serve as well as compliance with state and federal mandates. Maris has a passion for providing behavior analysis within the early intervention model and a particular interest in parent training. Maris Pelkey is the Director of Birth to Three Services for Creative Interventions.

 Kate Giampetruzzi has a Bachelors in Science and a Masters in Occupational Therapy from Duquesne University. She has been with Creative Interventions since 2009. Kate is the clinical coordinator of related services and is a team supervisor for our East Granby Office. Her primary responsibilities include providing direct in-home occupational therapy services, providing direction and consultation to families and teams regarding OT strategies/interventions, acting as liaison for independent contractors, and organizing, overseeing, and acting as a team supervisor for all occupational, physical, and speech therapists.


Melanie Varian, BCaBA Clinical Coordinator of Southern CT Office

Melanie Varian received her B.A. in Child Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis from Eastern Connecticut State University. She received her graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of North Texas and is currently a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst. Melanie has been with Creative Interventions since 2006 and is the Clinical Coordinator for the Southern Connecticut Office. Melanie’s primary responsibilities include providing direct and consultative services to children, parents, families and schools as well as organizing and implementing social skills groups for children and adolescents in Southern Connecticut. In addition to being a Clinical Coordinator, Melanie provides training, support and direction to ABA and Lead Therapists as a Team Supervisor. Melanie also assists the Clinical Directors in marketing, public speaking, conference appearances, and company exposure projects throughout the state and believes strongly in the company’s philosophy and family centered training model. In 2012, Melanie was recognized by the Fairfield County Business Journal as one of the “40 under 40″ award recipients because of her demonstration of strong leadership qualities and ongoing commitment to personal and professional development.


Krystina Gilhuly, BCBA, Clinical Coordinator of East Granby CT Office

Krystina received her Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Joseph College in Psychology with a Minor in Disabilities Studies. Her Master’s Degree was in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism from Sage College. During her Master’s Program, she was a Student Representative for the Association for Behavior Analysis International. She has worked in private out-placement schools and public schools. She recently was a BCBA for a school district consulting with a district-wide autism program, providing in-home consultation and individual school-based consultation cases. She is now the Clinical Coordinator for Creative Interventions. Krystina enjoys traveling, gardening, and is an avid swimmer.
